Reading List

Just a list of readings, as the art season begins and the vicissitudes of the art market start to re-emerge:

  1. The NYC Art Market Report by Clare McAndrew, thanks to the Independent. To remember the numbers.

  2. This beautifully written, pretty article by Jackson Arn on the new Sienese painting show at the Met, via the New Yorker.

  3. The Upside-Down World: Meetings with the Dutch Masters, which won the Pulitzer Prize. A rigorous and earnest art history book / memoir by Benjamin Moser.

  4. Started listening to Get the Picture: A Mind-Bending Journey Among the Inspired Artists and Obsessive Art Fiends Who Taught Me How to See by Bianca Bosker on Audible. It was enjoyable at first, and then quickly became tedious. But it provides a decent glimpse of a very specific side of the art world.

  5. Not a book, but this very new track by Aphex Twin has the immensity of a baroque text.
